How can I archive a literal witout affecting existing work items

Michael Alberda (2311447) | asked Nov 16 '17, 6:08 a.m.

Hi,

I want to archive an enumeration literal so that it doesn't appear on new work items. However, it cannot affect existing work items that have that value selected. The issue I have is the existing work items now display" The selected value is not applicable" where that literal archived.

Is there any way I can achieve this without affecting the old work items.

Thanks,
Regards,

Hi,

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It is still a problem for us. I don't understand the purpose of archiving if it then throws the error on the work item. We also use attribute validation so the error prevents the work item from being saved.

As per the below article, this should not be the expected behavior?

Thanks,
