Why does report builder not display a users project areas where they are a member after changing their email address?

When a user changes their email address in the CLM Rational tools - it affects the Limit Scope project area list in Report Builder.  They only get a list of open projects.  All projects where they are a member - no longer populate in the Limit Scope section.

The user can revert back to the original email address and Limit Scope section populates with ALL project areas where the user is a member.

Or

The user can wait for the nightly processes to run and everything will display normally.

Currently, we are instructing users to update their email address before leaving work so the update can take place overnight.

Any ideas what is going on and how our team can address it?

Report builder can report against data coming from multiple Jazz Team Servers. The same user can have different user ids in each Jazz Team Server instance. So a user id cannot uniquely identify a user. The Email address is more suitable for that purpose. Report builder finds the Email address of a user from the data warehouse as it may not have access to all the Jazz Team Servers in the system. Data in the Data Warehouse is not live. One way to fix this, is to schedule the DCC ODS jobs more frequently. May be run them every 1 hour. But please do not re-schedule the data-mart jobs. Those should only run once a day.

Hello Aaron,

the email address is the key that the project access control feature uses to grant access to the project data only to users that have visibility of the projects in CLM.

To get it working again immediately after an email address change you can manually run the following jobs in DCC:
ODS Data Collection > Jazz Foundation Services - Core
Data-Mart Data Collection > Jazz Foundation Services - Project Area (Part 1)
Data-Mart Data Collection > Jazz Foundation Services - Project Area (Part 2)
