Separate jts for one ccm application

Currently users have 4.0.7 and they are planning to upgrade to 6.0.4. No proxy server used currently.
current topology is one jts has two ccm application registered.
For example https://prortc/jts has registered https://prortc/ccm and https://testrtc/ccm
they want to have a new https://testrtc/jts for https://oprtc/ccm (unregister https://testrtc/ccm from https://prortc/jts).

Obviously they want to keep testrtc/ccm data and it is not necessary for them to keep anything in new jts if that would work for them.

I am thinking that they may restore the exact same staging data in a new environment with jts and the two ccm registered. Then unregister https://prortc/ccm from https://prortc/jts on the staging environment,
Then do server rename for the new staging environment to make it as https://testrtc/jts, but the ccm applications seem to have problem in server rename as it is already testrtc/ccm.
Can the server rename be done for jts only on staging?

Or there is any other way to achieve this separation?
Appreciate if anyone can share some thoughts here. Thanks a lot.

I don't think there is any way to do this without exporting the data from one repository and then importing it into a new CCM repository that is associated with the new jts.  I'll make this a 'comment' rather than an 'answer' because I don't have any substantive knowledge to back up that belief.
