Do you maintain your own SMTP server? If not, contact the network administrator and make sure that the settings in JTS match that of the SMTP server.
If you are setting up your own SMTP server, there are many things that can go wrong, and we don't have any details to tell you what to try.

yes,I have maintained my own smtp server.I tried ip address also instead of name in server name field. One thing I am not getting is ,what will be the smtp reply address,I have put my own email address there.Someone please help me,how to solve these issue.I am using clm 6.0.3.
I am getting this error-
I am using localhost,so is it possible to send mail to the jazz users.
If you use localhost, you have to have a mail server on localhost. If you have no idea, chances are there is no mail server.
Which mail server is required.Do I need to install any tool for mail.I have installed thunderbird on my pc.I am using window 7 o.s.
Thunderbird is a mail client and not a server. Windows 7 is also a client operating system so it does not provide mail server capabilities. You can use whatever SMTP server you want. I used hMailServer for testing in a similar setup.
Note: get the server to work with thunderbird first and be able to send and receive mail before trying to hook RTC up to it.
Note: this is basic administration stuff that is not the focus of this forum.
There is no need of any hMail server, when you want to test the email connection in ibm rtc, even when you are using localhost.Use the below configuration-
