Importing test cases from TestManager to RQM 2.0

Ron Ross (11) | asked Sep 03 '09, 8:00 p.m.
Hi, I'm using RQM 2.0, and trying to import test cases from TestManager (Manual Test) 7.0.2. This is the version required to be compatible with the Rational 7.1 tools.

The doc says the first thing that must be done is to migrate all Manual Test test scripts. To do this, I am told to unzip RMTMigration.zip, and run install_tool.bat to install some plug-ins. When I run the script, it responds by telling me to check for Manual Tester installation.

The script is looking for %IBM_RATIONAL_RMT_INSTALL_DIR%\{rtmt.exe, rtmt.ini} The variable isnt present on the machine, nor do the files show up when I do a system search. Rational ManualTest is installed on the machine, version 7.0.2 (along with Rational 7.1 tools).

Does anyone know what the deal with this is?

Thanks,

Ron

Hi Ron,
If you are using Rational Manual Tester (RMT) for manual script then you need to follow that additional step of migrating All RMT script to RQM before migrating TestManager Assets to RQM.

In your case, it seems you are referring Manual Test of Test Manager.
So you can directly migrate TestManager assets using RTMMigration.zip file. It will migrate manual scripts, test case, plan, suite, log and all other related assets.
