RTC on Oracle RAC environment ?
Has anyone had the opportunity to setup RTC within an Oracle RAC environment? We would like to utilize RTC within Oracle 10.0.2.4 RAC, but do not know if there are any configuraiton parameters that would allow for utilization of the RAC clustering and failover features. Any information would be appreciated.

Any information would be appreciated. I am working with a team that has Oracle (and Oracle RAC). RTC is oblivious to the RAC part - Oracle presents as a normal database to RTC (actually to the app on the app server). Unless RTC is coded to take the RAC part into account (and it isn't) - then there is nothing special to set in RTC for the database to do its own internal clustering and failover, etc. Rumour has it that *any* non-RAC optimised app will actually run slower in a RAC setup than a regular database but this is not something I have direct experience of. anthony |
