Sorry it can not be done.  This might not be exactly what you need but how about performing the custom tasks at the end of the execution instead of within the result?  You can make a keyword for the custom tasks so it can be reused, then add a keyword step of those custom tasks as the last step of the test script for the execution.

What I specifically want to do is to launch a report viewer application that I have developed after execution of a test case and to view its result in my report viewer application.

I thought I will do it on the click of a button which I wanted to add in the UI of RQM results tab which will launch my application, since that is not possible I will have to try some alternatives.

But I will surely try the way you suggested! Thank you
