Extract requirements from RDNG

We would like to know if it is it possible to import excel documents in RDNG and extract requirements from the sheet.
It seems that the extract functionality is greyed in our installation when we import an excel sheet.

As I recall, "extract" during import works on documents (Word, OpenOffice Text, RTF). It can also be done interactively in the text editor once an import has completed (including text imported from Excel).
