Adding multiple discussion fields to work item type

Michael Walker (99215201157) | asked Aug 11 '09, 1:48 a.m.
Is it possible to have 2 Discussion Attributes in a Work Item Type? I tried adding a 2nd one to my Work Item, but it links with the other Discussion field and lists identical comments.

The reason I want to add another one to the record is because I wanted to separate some of the discussion of problem recreates from the other discussions that go on. The recreates can be rather lengthy and I'm worried some of the simpler comments will get overlooked.

I want the Recreate info to be a Discussion type because they won't be overwritten once entered.

Thanks

Umm, I did not test it but I am wondering if you cannot change the id of
the attribute for one discussio ?

You would need a custom attribute of type 'Comments'. This functionality
has been prepared for 2.0 but did not make it into the final release. It
is definitely planned for 3.0, however.

Has this made it into any release?  I don't see the comment type as valid type to use when I create an attribute.

Thanks for the response.

I added a unique ID and also a unique Label to each of the discussion fields. But when I try to create a new record it's still duplicating the text in both

did you solve this problem?

I am facing the same issue.

I'm curious to the outcome of this. I've tried creating a new id but the comments were still duplicated. We also would like separate discussion fields to keep certain discussions separate.

My env:
RTC server 2.0.0.2 iFix4
client 2.0.0.2 iFix6

We are currently running the latest release in a test environment but won't be going to our production server with it until we've done some more testing. It appears like to me that we can't have separate

Was this fixed in v3.x or v4.x?
