Is there any known issue if we have duplicate snapshot name already?

There is the new precondition to "ensure unique snapshot names" introduced in 5.0.2.

What is the background of the new precondition? ( Why is the new precondition implemented?)
Is there any known issue if we have duplicate snapshot name already?

The name is just a human readable form. The real info is a uuid and that is unique.
