Data Analysis DOORS NG

Adam Cruse (59159) | asked Jul 09 '15, 12:38 p.m.
Hello everyone,

Back in DOORS 9.X we had a drop-down menu (between "Link" and "Table") called "Analysis" which gave us the options of "Links..." "Wizard..." "Traceability Explorer" "Suspect Links". I was wondering if these old data analysis tools still exist in DOORS NG?

No, those exact tools do not exist in DNG. However, the tools in DNG provide very similar capabilities.
  • You can easily create a traceability column by adding a link column. Use the column selector icon (at the top of the column containing IDs) and lick More ... to get the "Change Column Display Settings" dialog. Entries with the "chain" icon represent links. Select one of these (if there are too many, you can use the drop-down at the top to change from "All" to "Links") and click "Add". The column will then appear in  the list on the right. You can change toe column order by selecting columns and clicking Move Up or Move Down. If you want to change the attributes displayed in a column, click on the column entry in the list and then click "Format". Choose the attributes you want then OK your way back out.
  • To show something like the Traceability Explorer, click the drop-down next to the pencil icon that appears when you hover to the left of the ID, in the menu, "Other Actions" -> "Open Links Explorer"
  • Suspect links are managed by suspicion profiles. These provide more capabilities than in DOORS 9, and need more to explain than I can cover in this answer. Take a look at the help here
