Hi,

An user with Test Analyst profile tries to create a test plan just typing the name of the test plan and cliking the Save button. Then he gets the error message: "Impossible to save the test plan. 'Saving test plan' failed. Permission denied. You are not allowed to execute the following actions: Create section".

Then I went to "Manage This Project Area", clicked in "Permissions", selected "Show by Operations" and filtered by "Saving Test Plan". "Saving Test Plan" action has a lot of sub actions, among them "Create section". The Test Analyst is not allowed to create section, in our configuration here.

Question: When we create a test plan and try to save it, Do RQM try to create a section behind the scenes?

Unless the user is creating a new custom section in the test plan, they should not receive this error.  Are they using a test plan template with a custom section?  What version of RQM?

Hi, Paul,

The test analyst is not creating a new custom section. He is using a test plan template which already has a custom section. We don't want to allow test analysts to create custom sections. What to do?
We are using CLM 4.0.5.

You have a couple of choices:

1. The custom section could be removed from the custom artifact template.
2. A new custom artifact template can be created without the custom section.
3. The custom section could be removed from the test plan before the Save button is clicked.
