Blank Editor Presentation in Web Client (RTC Work Item)

Greetings,

Any ideas what I should begin looking for if I have an editor presentation for a new work item which is entirely blank?

When I create a new work item in the Eclipse Client, it works as expected.

When I create a new work item in the Web Client, the page shows the title bar (with the House, and the sections: "Project Dashboards, Work Items, Plans...") It also shows "Work Items", but the entire page is blank.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dave

can u tell us more.. what kind of layout did you use, what fields are on it,
what version of RTC, what browser?

The default tab's layout is the "Overview" layout.

Details slot has only out-of-the-box fields, with some separators but no other non-attribute based presentations.

Quick Information, Description, and Discussion slot contains the standard definitions we use in other work items.

This is RTC 4.0.6.

Viewed with Firefox 30.0.

 Dave,
most of the time, a blank page is the result of an unexpected exception
when loading the work item.

To track this, I generally use Chromium
http://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/download-chromium

Add ?debug=true to my URL and have chromium break on all exceptions
and reload the page - you should stop at the error.

Ping me if stuck or open a formal PMR.

Thanks,
Eric

This seems very useful. I'm just using Firefox tools. The first error has message:

"_38 is undefined"

In stack ".layoutHeader"

*gasp! The Header section had no presentations! It looks like the section id was messed up. I got it all fixed and NOW it loads!

Thanks for the useful pointers :)
