I am planning to have tasks which can be brokendown into sub-tasks, what are the best practices to implement them?
Is there any doc or tuto ?

Accepted answer
no real doc.. child is a link from workitem A to workitem B
A will see B as a child simultaneously there will be a link in the reverse.. B will see A as its parent any workitem can be parent and any workitem can be child. you can add/change these at any time. see the links section of a workitem, select Add only rule is a workitem can have ONLY one parent Ralph Schoon selected this answer as the correct answer

Dashboards and work items are no longer publicly available, so some links may be invalid. We now provide similar information through other means. Learn more here.

Thanks for your response,
the links do not care about types on either end, or workflow in either end, or state of either end.
status of the children in relation to the parent depends on what type of workitems and what view you chose in the plan view.
task rolls up to story
task and story do not roll up to epic.
tasks do not roll up to tasks.
sometimes you can exclude task items. and NOT see the rollup.
only estimates and actual time spent roll up.
