Which version of RTC are you using?

I believe this may be related to https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=309179.
If that is the case then the fix will be in 4.0.6.1

i am not sure what version you're talking about, here is the dump from scm.exe:

 C:\Program Files\IBM\TeamConcert\scmtools\eclipse>scm version

Build Id: RTC-I20121113-2333

com.ibm.team.filesystem.cli.client, version 3.1.200.v20121031_1112
com.ibm.team.filesystem.cli.tools, version 3.1.200.v20120924_1445
com.ibm.team.filesystem.cli.core, version 3.1.200.v20121106_0746

oh you're talking about RTC server? i know it's 4 but not sure about the minor numbers....

 found this:

 looks like it's 4.0.6

I found this question, that provides some information: https://jazz.net/forum/questions/154400/error-when-running-locate-change-set-in-405-client

If this does not apply, please check which Java version you are using. Ideally you want to use the Java that ships with the RTC client.

Thanks for the point. The java version i am using here is 1.5. I switched to 1.6 which is shipped with rtc cli and it didnt have any effect. it looks like the locate command blows up on either number of uuids or some of them..
