Is it possible to create a new lab resource (machine) while registering adapter (OSLC, lyo)?

Hi,

I want to integrate my testtool with RQM 4.0.6 using a custom automation adapter (OSLC). To learn how to develop a custom automation adapter I want to run the Sample Test Automation Adapter Source.

The basic functionality works fine so far. I got an "extended" problem. While registering the adapter the rqm searches for a appropriate machine (lab resource) and links it with the adapter. If only 1 machine exists every adapter uses the same machine and updates the ip address and hostname properties. If several machines exist and the ip address and hostname properties are set the appropriate machine will be linked.

As a workaround it is possible to define several correctly configured machines to create several adapters shown with different hostnames and ip addresses.

When the machines are not defined every adapter is shown with the same ip address and the same hostname which is not only "ugly" but also wrong.

My desire is to create automatically new machines when an appropriate machine doesn't exist. Therefore first all existing machines has to be searched. If the matching machine cannot be found a new one has to be created. Is it possible doing this by OSCL? Sadly I couldn't find information so far.

Thanks for your help,
Michael

"As a workaround it is possible to define several correctly configured machines to create several adapters shown with different hostnames and ip addresses. This is a valid work around. But it should create new machine if it does not exists. This is a defect - Lyo adapter does not create a different machine instead use one of the existing machine

As a work around you can also try to give different "fullyQualifiedDomainName" for different adapter.
