In RTC BIRT, how do you create a parameter based on an Enumeration type?

I want to write a BIRT Report that shows all the work items with an attribute having a selectable enumeration literal.

When I try to create a parameter data set based on the ENUMERATIONS table, I am not allowed to provide a value of '{Current Project Area}' for PROJECT_AREA_ITEMID.

How can I get round this, please? I am using RTC 4.0.3.

Create a joint data set for LIVE_WORKITEMS_CNT and ENUMERATIONS

I couldn't get the Jpoint data Set to work but I have found a workaround - to use a Simple Data Set instead of a Parameter data Set. Bizarre!
