Oracle Setup for RTC

Liora Milbaum (513282117) | asked Apr 29 '14, 12:32 a.m.
The documentation specify that Oracle DB must be set with AL32UTF8 to support UTF-8.
Is it OK to use other setups like: IW8ISO8859P8, which also support UTF-8?

Thanks,
Liora

Hi Liora,

Your Oracle database must be setup using the AL32UTF8 character set.  If your database is configured with IW8ISO8859P8 then the JTS/RTC setup with display an error at the step to create the tables, and it won't be possible to continue without recreating the Oracle DB with the correct settings.  The setup specifically checks for that AL32UTF8 setting.
