How can we improve the performance of a query to retrieve the list of collections in a project area?

I have created the following query to retrieve the lists of collections in a project area. :

>https://abc.xyz.com/rm/views?oslc.prefix=rdf=<http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns%23>&oslc.select=*&oslc.where=rdf:type=<http://open-services.net/ns/rm%23RequirementCollection>&projectURL=https://abc.xyz.com/jts/process/project-areas/_AMNOYO6_EeKXkoM7Um_54A

The above query takes a lot of time for a project area with large set of collections. Many a times an IOException Connection reset is recieved. Is there any way to optimize the query to improve performance
