Does anyone have detailed information about how the new RTC 4.0.6 "Work Item Activities" dashboard widget works?

The follower and Contributor options are not working the way I would expect, and I cannot find a detailed explanation anywhere. Also, why doesn't the hover pop-up view work like most everywhere else in RTC Web?
