Does Archivng a project area free up DB space?
![]()
Hi,
We are trying to free up our DB space and one of the measures was to move all the artifacts of a project area to a different repository and archive this project area. My question is, when we archive the project area, does it free DB space ?
Thanks

Hi Sunita,
archiving a Project Area does not free up DB space. This fact results in the Plan Jam item for physically removing Project Areas. You can find and vote this item here: Ability to delete projects Hope this helps, Simon Sunita Dinakar selected this answer as the correct answer
Comments Thank you Simon, that answers my question.
I will vote on the work item you've pointed out.

Sunita
One other follow up question - If we find a way to move work items across repository or delete work items in a project area, will that free up DB space? work items can be deleted using the "delete" function of JazzAdmins:
