dojo 0.9 supports a nice mechanism by which all the xhr* APIs return a
deferred object. Is the jazz transport API likely to support this?

I've heard good things about deferred objects but haven't had a chance to study them nor code with them.

I'm planning on revisiting the transport layer APIs sometime soon and will ask you to join the discussion on how we can make use of Dojo's deferred object mechanism, if your time permits.
