Automate the Deployment Process - Cognos

Cognos installed in AIX box, usually will get request to deploy(using Import option through Cognos web interface) report content in cognos platform(10.1.1). In this environment, i have to deploy report content in several cognos servers, hence I have to automate this deployment process through AIX box respectively. Please let me know how do implement it and provide your approaches & document. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,

If you're looking to automate the deployment of Cognos content to one (or many) Cognos servers, take a look at MotioCI.   It provides Version Control, Release Management and Automated Testing for Cognos. 

You can also do things like evaluate the impact of a new deployment in a target Cognos Environment before finalizing the deployment (e.g. verify that the BI content runs correctly, verify that it performs acceptably, etc).   See http://info.motio.com/Blog/bid/82372/Evaluate-the-Impact-of-Cognos-Changes-Before-Promoting-to-Production for more details.

 If you're using Insight, the Setup Wizard will deploy reporting contents automatically. If you're purely using Cognos, you might want to use Cognos SDK.
