RTC client for Visual Studio 2003

ramu k (12) | asked Dec 15 '08, 3:50 a.m.
Hi All,

I am presently using Visual Studio 2003 version, but I want to install RTC client for VS 2003.
But looks like RTC client supports only VS 2005 and 2008 versions.

Is there any work around for installing RTC client for VS 2003?

will the future releases of RTC support VS 2003?

Thanks,
Ramu.

Hi

RTC client for Microsoft Visual Studio uses some of new feature of .NET platform, which are available only with Visual Studio 2005 and later. Its unlikely that we will be supporting Visual Studio 2003. If you have specific requirements, please let us know.

We also need VS 2003 and RTC to work together. What does VS 05 and 08 have that 03 does not to support RTC. Clear Case works on VS 2003, why not RTC?

This was more of a decision we made with respect to Microsoft's posted mainstream support retirement dates for Visual Studio . NET 2003.

They end mainstream support for this version on 10/14/2008. We generally look to how the vendor is supporting the release and the overall adoption rate of newer versions to determine what releases we will support.
