Verification workflow step: Only by certain named users?

Hi we're using the default Bugzilla workflow for some of our work items. We want to set things up so that only certain named users can perform the "verify" step. Is there some way to do this?

Hi Andrew
You can do this based on contributor roles with permissions. In the Team or Project Configuration, for a certain development line, you can specify which permissions a user with a certain role has, e.g. trigger the 'verify' workflow action. Permissions on a per-user base are currently not supported.
