Link appearance in workitem description

Stephen Long (14311013) | asked May 24 '13, 3:59 a.m.

On the Jazz site the build track workitem (see https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Jazz%20Collaborative%20ALM#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=214812 for an example) embedded links in the workitem descritpion appear as

"workitem summary (workitem id)"

On our system if we insert a link to a workitem into the description field it appears as

"workitem_type workitem_id"

e.g.

"defect 387"

Any ideas how the other format is acheived?

We are using RTC 4.0.1

Hi Stephen,
The links you see in the track build item are created in the RTC client for Eclipse.  To generate links like these....
  1. Open the RTC client for Eclipse
  2. Open a work item
  3. At the top of the work item tab, click the arrow button next to "Defect X"
  4. Select Copy ID and Summary
  5. Now paste the link wherever you'd like
