I'm trying to demo a proof of concept, and as part of the requirements, we need a couple of fields to input user names...beyond Created By, Owned By, etc. For example, they want Requested By and Unit Representative. Is there anyway to create presentations for these other than just creating a large text box where the user inputs the name? Ideally, I would envision a drop down box, but I'm open to any solution.

The upcoming 2.0 M1 build will feature the possibility to create custom
attributes for item references, e.g. for users. The drop down box is then
the default presentation.

With 1.0.1, you don't have this possibility yet, and you would probably
have to choose the string based solution.
