One build engine process for multiple build ids?

Timo Wolf (61165) | asked Dec 09 '08, 9:44 a.m.
Hello,

Is it possible that one build engine process takes care of two or more build engine ids?

Or the other way round:

I want to use the same build engine process within two different project areas.

Does this work?

Thanks a lot,

Timo

Sorry,

to clarify:

Now, I was able to reuse the build engine (by build engine id) from project A in my build definition in project B.

It works, however, the build engine is not listed under the project B. When I open the build engine, I can set the team area, but only one and not many.

Is there something I do not understand in the concept or is this a bug?

Thanks a lot,

Timo

The support for sharing build engines between project areas is not very
good.

As you discovered, you can use an engine defined in one project to run
builds defined in another project. However, the engine only shows up under
the first project.

Please create a bug report for this.
