Can I create a custom link type in CLM 4.0.1 ?
I´m working on a process template customization in RTC 4.0.1, one of the requirements, is to disable links between workitems that can´t be linked because of the process definition, something like: A bug can´t be related to a Task or a Bussiness Need.
I think this can be solved adding a new link type and a custom editor for that purpouse, because when I enable the "Related" link type in the "links" tab, when I look for the related work item it allows me to select work items of all types:

currently RTC does not provide any controls on what linktypes are allowed for what endpoint workitem types.
there is an enhancement request to provide this function https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/160162 also note that new custom link types (I've added about 8) are all SYSTEM WIDE, in every project, and cannot be limited to 'a' project, much less 'a specific' end workitem type. |
