Error opening custom work item from Web UI in RTC 4.0.0.1 for a user

We have a user getting the error below when opening a work item from a query results list.  Appears in IE8, Firefox, and Chrome.  This is a custom work item at our site.  Seems to be just this one user.
Error message is:
"Error fetching or storing Review Work Ticket 12951 | Details: Error loading properties for editing the work item"

No solution, but looking for one myself.   Do ALL custom work items of this type behave the same or just once in a while ? Here's my scenario: run a query which will find these custom work items Open the first, if successful, click Next If the Next tries to open the work item, but gives the message does "reload" on the browser ultimately load it ? *** Error: Error loading properties for editing the work item | Details: The server is not responding or a page navigation occurred before an operation completed. Check that your server connection is working and that the server is operational, then try the action again or refresh the page. com.ibm.team.workitem.common.internal.RequiredAttributesByConditionAdvisor.getRequiredAttributes(RequiredAttributesByConditionAdvisor.java:88)  com.ibm.team.workitem.common.internal.PropertiesManager.findRequiredAttributes(PropertiesManager.java:101) [snip]
