Queries regarding Logical and Storage Models of Items

Abhishek Minde (7121912) | asked Nov 20 '08, 11:35 a.m.
We are a group of graduate students at Carnegie Mellon University and we are working on a project which involves research on Jazz framework's Repository and Connector components. We are new to the Jazz world; however, we are very excited to learn about it. We've just started with reading online material and have downloaded and worked with RTC. We've also installed the SDK. We are looking forward to know more about Jazz in a time effective manner.

We're glad to see the active community and would like to be part of it.

We have following queries regarding the items regarding Logical and Storage model of items.

1) How to define logical model?

2) Where (code component) we can define logical and storage models?

3) It is mentioned that there is some Jazz specific tool to compile logical to storage, can anyone let us know about it more?

Hi Abhishek and other CMU folks,

The Jazz Talk example is probably a good start:
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/JazzTalkWalkthrough

It's a concrete example that shows how to develop a component with a simple storage model.

If you have further questions about this example or the Jazz storage model, you may want to post questions on the jazz.extend forum as well. There you are more likely to get more technical guidance from the Jazz experts (i.e., the folks who develop Jazz!)

Thanks Annie. We'll go through the suggested material.
