Yes this can be done. Bulk changes to WI is always done the same way. This also applies to the field "restricted access".

Please be aware that for all UI queries there is a result set size limit ( "Maximum Query Result Set Size" typically 1000 items, I think). It is supposed to prevent users from creating too much load. In addition it is too much to deal with anyway. However, if needed you can increase the limit in the Advanced Properties. You should set it back after using it. As an alternative, split the result sets into less than 1000 items per result.
