Question about RTC Eclipse client
4 answers
I understand that RTC supports Eclipse and Web based UI...only.
This mean that developers can only use Eclipse based IDEs? What if they use other IDEs like Oracle Developer, how can they integrate with RTC?
Thanks in advance.
Hi
I can make a start on a reply - I am sure others will chime in...
RTC is a very well-behaved Eclipse plugin - so as long as you have the right version of Eclipse (3.3 and greater) - you can install RTC. For the Jazz SCM bits - if the IDE uses the proper team interface, you should see Jazz SCM as a option for the Team settings. If the IDE uses other specific SCM mechanisms. and its own way of dealing with things that RTC does (like handling work items, chat) - obviously you will not be able to use the RTC capabilities.

Is there an update site where I can get jazz so I can extend my current installation of Eclipse, instead of having to download the whole thing?

Not that I am aware of....
Unless you really want to - you don't download the client at all - just the Installation Manager which then allows you to install in an Eclipse instance, and then pulls down the relevant bits from jazz.net. Not quite the same as the Update function in Eclipse - but not as bad as having to download everything.
