Rational DOORS Next Generation with Configuration Management 5.0 beta 1 New & Noteworthy
In this beta, Rational DOORS Next Generation adds support for requirements versioning and the configuration management of requirements. This support provides many benefits that software configuration management tools provide for file-based information:
- Re-create an engineer's workspace based on a stream or baseline
- Develop in parallel or develop multiple variants
- Make changes in an isolated workspace, and then deliver them to one or more streams of development
- Reuse artifacts without copying them
- Create snapshots (baselines) to capture the state of the workspace at a point in time
- Make changes in an isolated workspace, and then deliver them to one or more streams of development
- Manage change
- Group changes in a change set
- Associate a change set with a change request
- Deliver changes in a controlled way across streams, and combine, or merge, changes that were made in different streams
- Compare the contents of the artifacts in two streams
- Group changes in a change set
