Workaround: When both Design Management and the Requirements Management (RM) application access the graphical display, the application server crashes

Summary

When both Design Management and the Requirements Management (RM) application access the graphical display, the application server crashes.

More Information

On Linux operating systems, when Design Management and the Converter application for the RM application are installed, the application server might crash when you try to open an artifact. The crash occurs because Design Management and the RM application are both using the Standard Widget Toolkit (SWT) to access the graphical display for rendering images.  SWT for Linux systems does not allow multiple threads in the same JVM to access the graphical display.

Workaround

Configure the Converter application to a separate application server or deploy the Converter application to a separate system in a delegated configuration. For instructions to configure the Converter application in a delegated configuration, see Rational Requirements Composer Converter Application Installation.
