[closed] How to copy component files and metadata to another RTC repository

Using RTC 3.x 

I have a component with lots of files and lots of file metadata. I need to recreate (i.e. copy) the component's files to a new component in a new repository (can't use the same repo unfortunately).

I cannot enable the distributed SCM feature ... wish I could.

So, I was trying to figure out whether I can load the component from the first repo .. then disconnect the project from the first repo and somehow reconnect to the new repo and then share it.

Will either the component disconnect or the sharing in the new repo destroy metadata ?

Any help appreciated

What metadata are you referring to? The short answer is that disconnecting from one repo will likely remove the metadata you are referring to.
