workitem presentation editor not really working

I am creating a couple new workitems..
done a paper design
add my attributes,
now start to create the editor and page layouts.

am re-using some of the existing layouts, overview, H, details.

add tabs, add sections, add presentations.. the 'steps' are pretty clear,
but the results are unexpected

some fields appear on the web UI, but not the eclipse UI (and vice versa)
some fields appear, but are not editable (even tho the presentation says so),

This should be SO simple, but I have about 4 hours in.. the 1st tab works, the second doesn't.

is there any doc on which layout assumes which kind of thing will be presented there..

Custom layout seems to be the most lenient, but others would be useful too.. H, links, ...

Sam,

there is an article in the library about editor presentation and the layouts. Having said that, I have noticed that the Web UI tends to treat layouts differently and the article was for the Eclipse client.

Hi Sam,

the article: https://jazz.net/library/article/130, not sure if it applies.

Some hints on how I find stuff ('cause I often can't remember the where but the what 8-))

1. Some famous commercial search engine provider: Search string: editor presentation site:jazz.net. I found the article as second hit.
2. I like the new advanced search search string editor presentation

The search https://jazz.net/search_results.jsp?q=editor%20presentation#page=0&type=type%3DDocument-LibraryItem&q=editor%20presentation

finds the article as 2nd hit on the library tab.
