Using rich(er) text in the description field of a work item

Hi all

I am working with a group that would like to have more options for text in the description field of the work item. At the moment you can use bold/italics and link to other work items. What about adding tables or embedding images or similar.

I thought of adding a new field of type wiki as an alternative.

Any other options?

I would also love to have more formatting options available in the work item description. Could you please explore?

Must have - bullets/lists
would like to have - tables, images

Basically the options that are provided in the forum comments.
