Increase HTTP timeout via web-ui

I have a number of users that are connecting to an RTC server over quite a slow/high-latency connection, and I've been getting reports that the web-ui often shows error messages saying the connection has timed out. From the reports these errors seem to occur when the user is performing an action like saving a work item or accessing a different screen. Apparently refreshing the page will usually solve the issue, but the users will experience the same issue again not long after.

We're going to be investigating the issue from a networking perspective to try and increase the performance of the connection, however I was wondering if, for a short term fix it might be possible to increase the timeout of the web-ui?
