Does migration from RQM 2.x require RQM 3.X and RC 3.x ?

Sam Abeyratne (644) | asked Aug 26 '11, 3:00 p.m.
Customer is currently using RQM 2.x version. Customer is managing requirement changes (CRs) also through this version using a "Requirement" entitiy. If the client were to move to RQM 3.0, there is no support for Requirements (as I understand). Does this mean that customer also has to now buy RC 3.0 ? Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Sam,

Although the QM 3.0.1 application does not have requirements support, you can install the QM and RM applications and you will be able to continue to use requirements functionality. Your "Quality Professional" client access licenses will allow your users to use "Rational Requirements Composer Core" features, as mentioned here: https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-quality-manager/releases/3.0.1?p=featured

In summary, although the implementation may be different in 3.0.1, there is no additional purchase required to maintain the same functionality available with RQM 2.x licenses in regards to requirements management for your RQM users.

More details on the technical side of the 2.x -> 3.0.1 migration in regards to requirements are here:
