Unable to start RQM 2.0.1 iFix 005

I installed RQM 2.0.1 iFix 005 on Windows server 2008 R2 enterprise edition 64 bit OS.

I installed using installation manager and it didn't give any errors during installation. However when I try to start JTS from Start, All Programs, RQM 2.0.1, right clicking Start JazzTeamServer and Run as Administrator it doesn't bring up DOS window to start the service. RQM or JTS doesn't appear in Windows services either. It appears JTS won't start.

However if I run JTS by selecting Start JazzTeamServer and not running as Administrator it brings up DOS window and shows the processes / services it starts. When JTS is started in non-Admin mode I cannot access any URLS required for configuraiton such as /jazz/admin/setup or /jazz/setup.

I would appreciate if anyone could kindly help resolve this issue ASAP.

I finally got RQM 2.0.1 installed in Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit to work. When I tried by starting JTS from Start, All Programs, RQM 2.0.1, right clicking Start JTS and selecting Run As Administrator it wouldn't start and it gave no errors. I was able to start JazzTeamServer as Administrator by running DOS prompt as Administrator by doing CNTRL+SHIFT+ENTER keys. From Administrator DOS prompt I went to the RQM install dir/server and ran server.startup.bat in command line. Once it JazzTeamServer started I was able to configure RQM 201 from the URL jazz/admin/setup and it worked !

Hi,

if you install on Windows (7 Server2008) you should change the installation folder for the shared code and the application to something like C:\IBM\.....

Installing in Program Files(x86) which is default causes issues, because the folder is actually virtualized and has special protection from the OS. You describe the solution: open a command prompt as admnstrator, cd to the server folder and run server.startup.bat.

If you want to avoid that, make sure nt to use Program Files. You have to choose the shared install folder at eh first installation. You can not change it anymore later, except you ininstall all products installed with IM and potentially IM as well.
