License consumption for RTC

If I use the RTC SDK plain Java client libraries from a 3rd party application for
- user authentication with Jazz credentials
- querying and updating work items

then, will the RTC license(s) be consumed in the process?

I might be wrong, but I think you need a Contributor license for updating work items.

If I use the RTC SDK plain Java client libraries from a 3rd party application for
- user authentication with Jazz credentials
- querying and updating work items

then, will the RTC license(s) be consumed in the process?
