Restricting users based on Asset Types

Yes, I have applied One.

You can create a new Role > where you can select access type you want to give to users > apply a restriction on Asset Type.

For example Role name: Restricted Usage> Access type : read, download etc > Restriction : where asset type is ABC and XYZ.

Now create a user group : Restricted Users > Give them access to only Restricted Usage role. So they will only be able to access assets from asset type ABC and XYZ.

But here is the constraint with this : You can't allow user to create asset with any type of restriction applied, because restriction can be applied only for the assets assigned to a type and/or category, which can be true only for existing asset. So new asset can be created by user, but he can update those.

RAM Team : Please let us know, if there is any other way, to overcome restriction of not able to give create access.

Is there a way we can restrict users from Creating/Downloading/Viewing a particular Asset type.

For example: Inside a community I have 5 Asset types created. Out of the 5 Asset types I do not want users to view/create/download a Particular Asset Type.

How do I achieve this?

You can define what asset types can be created in a community. Go to Administration>Asset types and select one of them. You can see in its configuration page that you can define the 'communities scoping'.

You can define the scope of every role in a community, including Asset Producer, based on asset types and categories.
