Job failed due to Authentication failed
I have been trying to troubleshoot this error for days. I still can't figure this out.
From my view, these tests were done trying to isolate the problem.
1) Test BFAgent (using 7.1.2.1 version) with encryption enabled.
Telnet directly to BFAgent
Enabled the encryption on BFAgent using the same bfpwencrpt.conf as the buildforge engine.
Telneted to the bfagent. execute the unix command ; "ls"
Obtain the encrypted password for bfadmin from the DB and sent along with the command. ------> Works.
Using UI Console-> Test Connection
Enabled the encryption on in Server object in the UI Console
Clicked on "Test Connection" Button.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------> passed
2) Test BFAgent (using 7.1.2.1 version) with encryption disabled.. Sending encoded password instead.
Telnet directly to BFAgent
Disabled the encryption on BFAgent.
Telneted to the bfagent. execute the unix command ; "ls"
use the encoded password from Josh ad sent along with the command ---> works.
Using UI Console-> Test Connection
Still keeping the encryption on BFAgnet disabled.
Disabled the encryption on in Server object in the UI Console
Clicked on "Test Connection" Button.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------> passed
After completed the above tests, the project still failed with the bad password. I can see the encpass changed on every job launched. Could it be some we can see how the bfproject process the the password decryption?
I also noticed that encpass between jobs are different. Is this normal?
Just quick overview. The pasword stored in DB is encrypted but not the communication to the agent. Just the encoding.

The encoded password should change, but if the test connection work, the build should work too. If you need to see the encryption working try turning on the debug and troubleshooting that way:
