How to I finish the last iteration in a timeline

Siegfried Oesterreicher (10713730) | asked Jan 24 '11, 9:16 a.m.
Hello,

we have project that handles each release in an own iteration. Now we found that in some timelines the last iteration is still marked as current, even it is already worked down. How can I set the last iteration in a timeline to finished ?

Thanks in advance.

You can't "unset" current. Being able to do so is requested in work
item 79007. Please feel free to add a comment to indicate your
interest/support.

Cheers

I found a manual solution to handle this last leaf iteration problem in a timeline.

I did the following.

Allocated an Iteration called "Finalize Iteration" as sibling to the last leaf iteration that should be closed.
Set this iteration to the current, which set the prior last iteration to finished.
Moved the "Finalize Iteration" to the next last leaf where I need it.

Worked great.

Hi Sigi,

nice solution, thanks for sharing. Would you mind to add that as comment to work item 79007 mentioned by Geoff, so that we can track it as a work around?

Thanks,

Ralph

One suggestion: In case you don't need any new iterations, just:
- move an iteration in from some other timeline into this timeline
- mark that iteration current
- move the iteration back to its original timeline

I'll add this comment to 79007.

Cheers,
Geoff
