Consequences from diabling Replace Component in stream?

AS one can accidenly select a stream when edit Build Definition or configure a personal build, which can result in unexpected replacement of the component in the stream by one from a workspace listed in the stream's Flow Target, we are trying to prevent the replacement from happening from permission setting.

At Team Area level, for Save Stream (server), we now allow both contributor and teamlead roles to:
Add components to the stream
Remove components from the stream
Replace components in the stream

We intend to disable at least the permission for contributors to
Replace components in the stream

But not sure the consequences.


What is going to happen to workspace branching out from the stream if one wants to create a baseline?
