Add simple files to RTC repository without using SCM

I remeber I could add files directly to RTC repository without using RTC SCM in previous release bu fogot how I did it.

Is it still avialble in 2.0.0.2.iFix04, and how to use it?

I don't mean attachment.

Not sure what you have in mind here ... perhaps as attachments to work
items?

Geoff

Hi, Geoff,
No, not the attachment with work items.
Also I don't mean the direct attachments to project/teat area either.

When we started to use RTC initially, we didn't use SCM at all. But there was need to add some documentations to RTC, and we dug out a way to add it directly as simple files.

Then we moved on to adopt RTC SCM.

But now there are teams asking about documnetary handling and distribution on RTCand I amtryin to dig out all the ways for them to choose.

Do you mean not using the RTC Eclipse client? There are other clients such as the command-line and Visual Studio client that allows delivery of change sets. In 2.0.0.2, there is the ability to make changes in source control from the Web UI.

Perhaps one of these other clients would be what you're looking for?

Hi, Tim,
Actually it is with the Eclipse client. And the files are not put under SCM, but stored on the repository somewhere.

No idea what that might have been ... and whatever it is, I doubt we'd
recommend you do whatever it was that you did (:-). So unless someone
has a better idea, I'd suggest you not include this in your user guide.

Geoff
