The new Forum is no longer hooked up with NNTP newsgroups. The Web UI is the only interface to posting questions. You can get notifications via RSS feeds and by email by adding favorite tags.

One other answer
Can you provide more details? If I try accessing this with my current account in Thunderbird then I just get a connection refused error. Are there changes in port, protocol, etc?
