query editor still shows removed attributes

Chris Ratcliffe (2633330) | asked Dec 16 '09, 11:36 a.m.
At one point during the development of my process configuration for my project area, I had a couple of attributes for a while, that I have since removed. They no longer show up anywhere in my process configuration, however, they continue to show up in the query creation dialogue, and they are causing confusion.

Where does the query tool draw the list of columns from? (both for filters and for display purposes)? How can I make it so that these fields don't show up in the query tool?

Thanks,
Chris

When you remove attributes from the work item configuration in the process specification, it doesn't remove the attributes for all work items that may of been saved with that attribute at some point. I suspect, that you have to run a query searching for all work items with that attribute, run the "Synchronize Attributes" action from the work item view that shows the results (eg, you can do this by selecting the column with the work item imagine).

Hi
The Synchronize Attributes will not remove the attributes, it will only add those that are configured in the project area, but not present on the work items.

Currently it is not possible to remove custom attributes from existing work items and furthermore the attribute will still show up in the query dialog as the attribute itself still exists.

There is some work going on to provide an 'archive' function on attributes.
- task 78594: Filter custom attributes that are not used any more from query editor by default https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/78594 filters the attributes that are not used any more in the process configuration from the query attributes dialog in the eclipse UI by default (implemented for 2.0.0.2)
- enhancement 59558: Allow archival of attributes https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/59558 will allow real archival of attributes

Thanks, I will look for 2.0.0.2 when it is available. Is this a Jazz server fix, or will simply installing the new 2.0.0.2 client filter out the unused attributes?

Hi
It is a client side fix, using the 2.0.0.2 client should be enough.

Running 2.0.0.2iFix5 I see the "show archived" when selecting conditions.

But the Results Layout still shows the archived attributes.

This is true. I'm getting the same results. We are running 2.0.0.2 IFIX3. what is the correct procedure to get rid of this?

Thanks,

This is a known issue in 2.0.0.2, but has been fixed in RTC 3.0
