Hi Rob,
you should receive a event to your event log (see Team Central) when
a bug is created for a team you are belonging to.

Is it possible to configure notificaitons( like those of the built
result that popup from the bottom right of the screen) to be shown
for other events?...ESPECCIALY WHEN WORK ITEMS ARE CREATED...

Try Windows > Preferences ... > General > Notifications.
This preferences then lists the set of events you can monitor. Pick an event of interest (eg., one of the Feeds), then a notification of interest, and in the "Options" group box in the bottom right, you'll see a "Notifier" drop down. One of the items in this drop down is "Alerts". I think this is what you're looking for.
